jamesphoenixhill.com was born in 2015 in Manchester UK. The website was a long time coming as I had been practising the medium for about two years.

After graduating from The University of Northampton, I decided to throw all of my passion and energy into learning and perfecting my own photography styles.

My main style of photography was made famous by the likes of Terry Richardson and Clayton Cubitt, who I admire very much. I loved the way they caught fun, personal, gritty and effortless moments of the emotional spectrum, whilst almost making them look like Polaroid family albums.

I also like to photograph using natural light, and another heavy style of mine is the art of double exposures. I recently published my first book Wanderlust. The book is a collection of double exposures and landscape photography of Scotland, and it is accompanied by a travel diary.

I am also a digital artist and I find retouching and compositing one of my favourite things to do within the genre. Recently I created a poster for the American hit T.V show Once Upon a Time, which received over 100,000 likes on social media, and was used in many articles to promote the 4th Season.

I am currently also working on my very first clothing brand named Oros Phoenix Clothing. You will find out more about this amazing line of t-shirt designs very soon! They will be available to purchase in October 2016.

It has been a great honour to be featured in The Directory of Young Talent by Channel 4 and The BBC.

I have also had success with my photography being published in Goodlight Magazine. Here I wrote an article on how to photograph beautiful double exposures. You can download the issue here: http://www.goodlightmag.com/editions?page=1

I offer a range of services, which you can check out via the menu. If you would like a photography service that I don't have listed on my service page, please do not hesitate to ask as I can try our best to accommodate your needs.
