One of my favourite places to visit in the UK is The Highlands in Northern Scotland. If you are a landscape photographer, there is no place better to visit. As you all know Scotland is heavily featured in my book Wanderlust, but I'm not here to talk about that today.
Scotland is probably one of the most underrated places I've ever been. I've never really heard anybody talk about the place, except a select few. The people I have spoke to absolutely had the time of their lives whilst they were there, and always mention that it is one of the most beautiful places they've visited. I totally agree with them on this. I've been abroad every year since I was 10, and although the weather is clearly better abroad, you can't beat the views and history that The Highlands have.
So when I first visited, I wasn't really expecting much, but I packed up my camera in hope of a few snaps. When I arrived, I counted my lucky stars that I did bring it. There are so many amazing places to take your camera whilst you are there, and I only touched upon a few. If you manage to catch a clear day, the sunsets and lighting are incredible for acquisition.
So get yourself booked in on a holiday, and enjoy snapping those great scenes!
